                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
                   CLOSURE OF PORTIONS OF STREETS IN THE
                   DOWNTOWN AREA, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED
                   HEREIN, ON SUNDAY, APRIL 25, 1993 FROM 12:30
                   P.M. UNTIL 2:30 P.M. FOR THE "1993 MARCH OF
                   DIMES WALKAMERICA" SPONSORED BY THE MARCH OF
                   DIMES BIRTH DEFECTS FOUNDATION, UNDER
                   CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
                  
                   
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby authorized 
the
       temporary closing of the southbound curb lane on the west side of 

       Georgia Avenue between M. L. King Boulevard and 7th Street, the
       northbound curb lane of Georgia Avenue between 7th Street and 4th 

       Street, the northbound lane nearest the east side of the Veterans 

       Bridge between 4th Street and the Barton Avenue ramp, Fehn Drive
       between Frazier Avenue and River Street, River Street between 
Fehn
       Drive and Tremont Street, northbound Tremont Street between River 

       Street and Frazier Avenue, using the sidewalks for the route 
until
       Riverfront Parkway, the northbound curb lane of Riverfront 
Parkway
       between Chestnut Street and M. L. King Boulevard, and using the
       sidewalks until the end at Miller Plaza on Sunday, April 25, 1993 

       from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. for the presentation of "1993
       March of Dimes Walkamerica" under the sponsorship of the March of 

       Dimes Birth Defects Foundation.  The sponsors are responsible for 

       the installation and removal of all traffic control devices in
       accordance with the traffic control plan attached hereto and 
shall
       provide at all times an access lane for emergency vehicles.
